Terms & Conditions

The basis on which we provide this website, quotations, manufacturing and installation.

About these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and the general basis on which Burl & Bow Southwest London provides quotations, manufacturing and installation. They do not replace the written quotation and order documents issued for a specific project; where those documents differ from this page, those documents apply.

Using this website

The content on this site is provided for information. Descriptions of materials, methods and services describe what we can manufacture and install, not a fixed specification for any particular property.

You may view, download and print pages from this site for your own use in considering a project. You may not reproduce our text, images or branding elsewhere without our written permission.

Enquiries and quotations

Submitting an enquiry form or calling us does not create a contract. It is a request for us to contact you.

Any figure given before a site survey is indicative only. A firm price is issued in writing after the openings have been surveyed and the specification, material, finish, glazing, ironmongery and access, has been agreed.

Written quotations are valid for the period stated on them. Prices may change if the specification, the openings or the site conditions change after the survey.

Orders, manufacture and lead times

An order is accepted once you confirm the written specification and we confirm it back to you. Because units are made to your survey dimensions, changes after manufacturing has started may not be possible and may incur cost.

Manufacturing and installation windows are confirmed in writing at survey stage. We control our own factory schedule, but dates may be affected by events outside our reasonable control, including access restrictions on site, weather that makes installation unsafe, and third-party supply delays. We will tell you promptly if a date needs to move.

Installation and site conditions

You are responsible for providing safe and lawful access to the openings on the agreed installation dates, and for obtaining any planning, listed building or freeholder consent the work requires.

Unless the written quotation says otherwise, our price covers the removal and replacement of the units specified, not the making good of decoration, rendering, plaster or landscaping beyond the immediate reveal, and not the alteration of structural openings.

Payment

Work is invoiced in stages as it progresses, in line with the schedule set out on your order documents. Invoices are payable by the date shown on them.

Title in supplied units passes to you when payment for them has been received in full.

Certification

Qualifying replacement windows and doors are installed under FENSA certification and self-certified against the relevant Building Regulations, and the certificate is issued to the property owner following completion.

Where work falls outside the scope of that scheme, for example new openings or structural alterations, Building Control approval is arranged separately and, unless agreed in writing, remains your responsibility.

Guarantees and aftercare

Any product or workmanship guarantee that applies to your project is set out in the written documents issued with your order. Please refer to those documents for the cover, duration and conditions that apply.

Guarantees assume the units are maintained in line with the care instructions supplied and have not been altered, forced or damaged after installation.

If something is not right after handover, contact the office on 01483 968616 or at enquiries@allwoodwindows.co.uk and we will arrange to inspect it. We manufacture and install with our own people, so the responsibility does not move elsewhere.

Cancellation

Where you are a consumer and the contract was concluded away from our premises, you have the statutory right to cancel within the period set out in your order documents. Because units are made to your measurements and specification, that right does not extend to bespoke items once manufacture has begun with your agreement.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, our liability in connection with a project is limited to the value of the contract for that project, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Governing law

These terms and any contract formed with us are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
